The Jitterbug Vipers are playing Kerrville Folk Festival June 13. In order to play Kerrville, we have to play “mostly” originals. So the Vipers have been learning some of my originals. We are using our Whip In shows as testing ground (rehearsal) for these songs. Some of them are starting to really swing! It’s a ton of fun for me to hear a whole new take on this material. So if you come to one of our Whip In Wednesdaze, the first set will be my originals a la Jitterbug Vipers and the second set will be our Jazz/swing/viper standards.
The Sweet Songs – Music for Families CD release was a huge success and the CD continues to sell well at Waterloo. If you know anyone with kids, I highly recommend this album.
I’m going to be doing some duets with Elizabeth McQueen some time soon at her Continental Club Happy Hour. She is the coolest. I can’t wait. I’ll keep you posted.
I have baby # 3 due in less than 2 months. It’s a boy. My last gig will probably be July 4 and then I’ll be back in September.
A Feature Film that I recently music supervised called ‘When Harry Tries to Marry’ is locked and now being submitted to film festivals. Here are the artists/songs that were used in the film. Luckily for me, the director is a big fan of my music. I could never place that many of my own songs in a film, just because I worked on it, even if I wanted to.
