Spaceflight Records presents an intimate evening of music and celebration to honor Sharp’s critically acclaimed debut jazz album, "Déjà Vu,” featuring a special performance by the Sarah Sharp Quintet
(AUSTIN, TEXAS – Aug. 5, 2026; source: Juice Consulting) – Austin-based jazz singer and songwriter Sarah Sharp announces an intimate celebration and live performance of her latest album, “Déjà Vu” in consideration of the GRAMMY Awards®. The event, presented by Spaceflight Records, will take place on Wednesday, Sept. 16 at The Victorian, located in Austin’s The Driskill hotel. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the Sarah Sharp Quintet will perform songs from “Déjà Vu” from 7:30 to 10 p.m. “Déjà Vu” was released on May 15 and marks the full-length debut LP under her own name. The new record showcases Sharp's striking vocals alongside richly crafted arrangements that span jazz, folk, and Americana, resulting in a sound unmistakably her own. As a three-time Austin Music Awards winner for “Best Jazz”, Sharp has held a prestigious nine-year residency at Austin's legendary Elephant Room, where her weekly performances with the Sarah Sharp Quintet have become a cornerstone of the city's jazz scene. The quintet recently performed at the 28th annual Takatsuki Jazz Street (the largest public jazz festival in Japan), where Founder Junichiro Kitagawa proclaimed them "The Best Band of the 2026 Takatsuki Jazz Street." Sharp has also received support from local hospitality powerhouse McGuire Moorman Hospitality (MML), who hosted her debut album release show at their Hotel Saint Vincent in New Orleans.
Sharp’s new album was recorded in the studio of local guitar legend Eric Johnson, who offered her the space after being mesmerized by one of her performances. The album was recorded and mixed by Kelly Donnelly and features Mitch Watkins (Leonard Cohen, Lyle Lovett, Joe Ely, Jerry Jeff Walker) on guitar, Sean Giddings (Pat Green, Christopher Cross) on piano, John Fremgen (Christopher Cross, Butch Miles, Shelly Berg, Kat Edmonson) on bass, Masumi Jones (Bruce Robison, Slim Richey) on drums and Oliver Steck (Bob Schneider, Slai Cleaves) on piano, accordion and cornet. Sharp describes her band as quintessential jazz musicians.
“They are immensely talented in a way that allows them to bring a vital sense of improvisation to the music we make,” Sharp said. “They never play a song the same way twice.”

This past year, Sharp received a 2026 Austin Music Fund Grant and is a two-time Sonic Guild (formerly Black Fret) grant recipient. Sharp initially rose to prominence with the Jitterbug Vipers, with whom she toured internationally for 7 years and received praise from NPR's Song Travels with Michael Feinstein. In addition to her list of accolades, Sharp has recorded music with 20-time GRAMMY-winning recording engineer Al Schmitt at the celebrated Capitol Studios in Hollywood, and her music has appeared in dozens of films and television shows, including ABC TV series Revenge, NBC’s The Good Wife and Netflix’s Cable Girls. Her music also appears in international advertising campaigns for high-profile brands such as Kia, E.L.F. Cosmetic, and Macy’s, for which she won a Silver Telly and Gold Addy Award. Universal Music Group has worked with Sharp for more than 15 years, and with Andrea Perry in their duo Kaliyo, she’s written 60+ songs for UMPG & Warner Chappell, with 160 cue sheets and counting. Sharp’s voice also shines in tracks like “Take What You Can Get” – featured in Playboy Channel promos and streamed 1.9M+ times on Spotify. Globally, people are tuning into her music, whether in a Chinese Dell commercial, a German dating show theme song, or as Karl Lagerfeld’s personal song choice for Chanel’s Spring/Summer campaign. Additionally, when Starbucks curated its quintessential Jazz Vocals playlist, it featured legendary greats Billie Holiday, Sarah Vaughan, and Nina Simone; however, nestled between them is Sarah Sharp, with eloquent vocals added to songs she penned. Her songs are even on the multinational coffee chain’s Sunday Brunch playlist. Needless to say, Sarah’s industry prominence and relevance is especially poignant this year with her latest project "Déjà Vu” - and one that she hopes will be recognized for years to come.
